The plot, Jay invokes a supernatural force when she decides to have sex for the first time with her new boyfriend Hugh. This curse is then passed on from person to person like an std.

The under current message through out this film is mainly a message of promiscuous acts by teens have bad consequences. The horror aspect is a supernatural force that takes on many forms. Taking shape of the kids most intense nightmares. The scenes are influenced by the late 70s to 80s horror films like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday The Thirteen, The Thing, Carrie and The Omen, to name a few. The cinematography is very good in my opinion. A particular use of a 'continues shot' is seen quite often, particularly in the chase scenes when Jay is running from the super tall guy as well as her Father by the pool towards the end of the film.

One of my favorite components that really brought the horror and terror to top would be the soundtrack. It reminded me of a classic John Carpenter scores such as Halloween, They Live and The Thing. To me, without it, this film would be boring and unappealing.

The teenagers eventually figure out the only way to rid themselves of the menacing power of the curse is to pass it on to someone else. But, does it really work out. The film leaves this up to interpretation and by now many online have their own ideas on this.

Conclusion, this is an enjoyable film, if you are a fan of the 70's and 80's style of horror, you will enjoy this film. The music was the best experience for me personally.
